Body Language
Body language is a weird thing.
Like, what does it mean when a woman touches her hair while she’s talking to you? Or when a man stands on a city sidewalk and raises his hand in the general direction of a taxicab? What about when someone punches you in the face? I guess we may never know the true meaning behind these baffling gestures.
In the dating world, body language is everything, and boy is it confusing. Imagine this: you’re at a nightclub and an attractive member of the opposite sex walks up to you with eyes that say “make love to me,” but the shoulders are saying “let’s discuss French literature,” and the legs have a hilarious stutter. What do you do? Ha, looks like your “mouth” language won’t help you now, college boy.
Not understanding body language can often lead to unpleasant consequences, like offending someone’s cooking or starting World War II. Studying body language is important for so many reasons, but mainly because the only thing that separates man from monkeys is that we have human bodies, and we use those human bodies to help us talk. Also, we can appreciate Shakespeare.
